CAR KEYS BLOCKS MOBILE PHONE USE WHILE DRIVING :-

A pair of US inventors are bringing to market a computerized car key that prevents people from chatting on mobile telephones or sending text messages while driving.
Key to SafeDriving adds to a trend of using technology to thwart speeding, drunken driving, and other risky behavior proven to ramp-up the odds of crashing.

Once slipped into a car's ignition, the key created by US university researcher Xuesong Zhou and Dr. Wallace Curry sends a wireless signal to a driver's mobile phone blocking calls or texting.
"If you're in driving mode, you can't talk or text -- period," a character tells a friend trying in vain to send a text message while driving a car in a YouTube video demonstrating how the keys work.

The keys are being pitched as a way for parents to stop teenage children from focusing attention on beloved mobile telephones instead of traffic.
A growing number US states are enacting laws against teenagers using mobile telephones while driving.
Traffic statistics support arguments that mobile telephones are on par with alcohol use when it comes to hurting judgment and reaction times of drivers.
In October, Ford Motor Co. unveiled a "MyKey" device which allows parents to control how fast their teenagers drive, limits the volume on the car radio and makes sure their seat belts are fastened.
Ford said that it will be a standard feature starting next year on the 2010 Ford Focus and other Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models.
Technology used to thwart drunken driving includes preventing car engines from starting until aspiring motorists have passed dashboard breath-alcohol tests or reaction-time tests on mobile phones.

Microsoft Confirms Windows 7 for 2010 :

Windows 7 is the working name for the next major version of Microsoft Windows as the successor of Windows Vista. Microsoft has announced that it is "scoping Windows 7 development to a three-year timeframe", and that "the specific release date will ultimately be determined by meeting the quality bar." Windows 7 is expected to be released sometime in 2010.

Microsoft is maintaining a policy of silence concerning discussion of plans and aspirations for Windows 7 as they focus on the release and marketing of Windows Vista, stating that Microsoft does not want to promise features and then fail to deliver, as happened with Windows Vista Ultimate, though some early details of various core operating system features have emerged.

There have also been indications that Windows 7 will use virtualisation to run any software that hasn’t been specifically written for Windows 7 or using Microsoft’s .NET language. 7‘s use of virtual machines to run these ‘legacy’ applications was leaked on Microsoft’s own Channel 9 community forum in July in a (quickly removed!) thread. While it's a novel approach for Microsoft to take, it's certainly not a first. At this early stage, no-one can guarantee that any feature will definitely be on the Windows 7 roster..

PCs will also sport obscene amounts of memory: 4GB will likely be equivalent to today’s ‘entry level’ of 1GB, with flash drives used in concert with hard drives to actively store files rather than just be a shot-term cache.

Lehman brothers in a debt of Billion of Dollars has a disastrous affect on other financial and Economical Corporations of the world .

Lehman Brothers
declared itself bankrupt on Monday and Wall Street rival Merrill had to be taken over in a new financial earthquake that sent global markets into a slump .
Lehman Brothers said it would file for bankruptcy on Monday after a frantic weekend of negotiations failed to arrange a rescue.

Lehman's slow collapse began as the mortgage market crisis unfolded in the summer of 2007, when its stock began a steady fall from a peak of $82 a share.

The fears were based on the fact that " the firm was a major player in the market for subprime and prime mortgages, and that as the smallest of the major Wall Street firms, it faced a larger risk that large wounded could be deadly.

As the crisis deepened in 2007 and early 2008, the storied investment bank defied expectations more than once, just it had many times before, as in 1998, when it seemed to teeter after a worldwide currency crisis, only to bounce back strongly.

Lehman managed to avoid the fate of Bear Stearns, the other of Wall Street's small fry, which was bought by JP Morgan Chase at a bargain basement price under the threat of bankruptcy.

Lehman and Bear Stearns had a number of similarities. Both had relatively small balance sheets, they were heavily reliant on the mortgage market, and they dependent heavily on the repurchase market, most often used as a short-term financing tool.

But by the summer of 2008 the rollercoaster ride started to have more downs than ups.

Barclays agrees to acquire Lehman Brothers' North American investment banking, and fixed income and equities sales, trading and research operations, including approximately 10,000 employees.

Barclays enter into support agreement with Leehman brothers to provide :

1) $500 million DIP-financing to Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.
2)A substantial interim credit facility to Lehman Brothers Inc.

A WONDEFUL IFTAR PARTY AT " MELA RESTAURANT "

Sunday 14 sep '08 : The Emotions elicit from the hectic life of Fast-Nu : 5th semester ( frequent attacks of stress and tension ) decided to have fun at the weekend in the form of iftar party … we a group of 6 friends " asad , amir ali , zain , kashif , fahad elahi and me " went to iftar at mela to have a have a buffet ( 54 dishes) … the journey began when asad brought his car at my place with amir ali , faha d elahi waiting at numaish for past couple of minutes making several calls at my cell phone : " yaar jaffer ….blah blah " . zain & fahad insisting to go

to buffet while the other forcing and convincing other guys to go pizza hut ..uffh but the decision went in favour of maulana sahab (zain) …as iftar was just intime in our way so a variety of food stalls for iftar meal (breaking the daily fast during the islamic month of ramadan) also there in our way giving dates and water bottles..
as we have taken ample of bottles .. but in tafreeh have more bottles & iftar boxes .. hahaha :kashif sayin " are u willling to sell it out" ..

fahad in the way saying that " buddies ! let me drink the juice also " …

The interaction between us starts to lose color when the meal came in front of our guys ( just kidding ) .. the duration of eating was spread over 2 hours (approx) , then after this stepped out from the Door where we have a Paan Session ..

then went to a long drive touching somewhat called " heart of cities " and in the mean while have the Conversation with Jahangir on cell phone with our group ( a sort of :-p ) … then went to Juice bar at Burns Road having a session of Soft Drinks ( " 7 up and Tropicana ")..

thus , winding up the whole journey of ours and thus the break-up was happy after all ..
Alas

Those days are passed away but those happy memories are left now
